Jeff Kottkamp Speaks About Chinese Drywall in Lee County

Lt. Governor Jeff Kottkamp made an appearance at the Shell Factory in North Fort Myers to discuss what homeowners should do if they have Chinese Drywall.

We know several clients and friends of ours who own homes in Cape Coral and Fort Myers that are either uninhabitable or utter money pits.

Hopefully something happens soon to help these homeowners out who have been affected by this major problem.

It is pretty crazy to see that Jeff Kottkamps own house has Chinese drywall. I guess it can happen to anybody!:)

In the meantime if you are out looking to buy a new home, do yourself a favor and have a chinese drywall inspection. It could save you thousands of dollars or more!

The first Chinese drywall lawsuit begins this month, and here is some good information on this ongoing issue: http://www.chinese-drywall-answers.com/ Among other problems, people living with Chinese drywall have suffered eye, respiratory, and sinus problems that may be linked to the gases emitted from defective Chinese drywall that produce a sulfurous odor and permeates homes, causing metals, including air conditioning coils and even jewelry, to corrode. Some 500 million pounds of Chinese drywall was imported into this country since the late 1990s, impacting about 100,000 homes.
